After all that heat UK recently had, the night was thunderous and stormy. I left Tintern rather late expecting a fairly easy ride. The views were stunning, so I was just stopping everywhere to take snaps
Severn Bridge
near Bristol
This obviously slowed me down a bit. One file country road parallel/below M5 running south west is very picturesque with the good surface and almost no traffic.
Strawberry Line further along was also nice, though it was hard gravel.
And then I reached Quantock Hills.
I just could not cycle down 25% slopes. Fixie is not fit for that. Yes, I had to walk it down the hill and when I saw few more of these, I had to call it a day, even though there’s been less than 5 miles left to the destination.
